Taxes and Twists Party to Aid Sheltered Pets

Two of Hackettstown’s newest businesses are throwing a roadside party, all to benefit sheltered animals, and everyone’s invited.

Liberty Tax Service and Philly Pretzel Factory at 150 Mountain Avenue are hosting the roadside party to benefit the St. Hubert’s and Noah’s Ark Animal Shelters from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7, according statement from the businesses.

Liberty Tax office is currently a collection site for pet food and supplies and will be through April 7. During the party, however, residents can drop off donations and enjoy free food, free tax advice and live entertainment provided by the Great Dane band.

“We want to help the pets and support the continuing good work of St. Hubert’s and Noah’s Ark,” Liberty Tax General Manager Bernice Will and Philly Pretzel owner Carl Boos said in a joint statement.

Staff from St. Hubert’s and Noah’s Ark will be on hand with adoptable pets as well. Business mascots Lady Liberty and Philly Pretzel will also be in attendance.

Raffles will also be available to win free tax returns, redeemable through April 2014, and a Philly Pretzel Factory party platter.

• KMR (kitten mil replacer)
• Soft baby blankets for orphaned kittens

• Baby food – no onion/garli please
• Cat litter – non-clumping

Dogs and Puppies:

• Hills Science Diet Puppy/Adult dry dog food
• Ground canned dog food
• Nylon slip leads
• Hard dog toys or Nylabones – no rawhides please
• Kongs and Peanut Butter
• Gently used towels, blankets, quilts or sheets
• Soft treats – no hard cookies please
