Wanted Man 'Recklessly' Flees Authorities: Hackettstown Police
Brandon Ivens was wanted on a fraud arrest, police said.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ - A 32-year-old Port Murray man took officers on a two-county chase before being arrested and charged on a slew of charges on May 30, according to the Hackettstown Police.
A Hackettstown Police officer observed saw a car driven by Brandon Ivens, who had an active no bail Mansfield Township warrant and a NJ wanted person warrant that was issued by the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office for a fraud offense shortly after 1:30 p.m., police said.
There was a “Be On The Look Out” for the vehicle due to the driver having the warrants and possibly in possession of a knife, police said.

The officer activated the police vehicle’s emergency lights and siren, and attempted to stop the vehicle and Ivens did not stop and eluded officers as he drove in a reckless manner, police said.
According to authorities, Ivens continued on Route 46 into Independence Township, where he threw suspected Controlled Dangerous Substance out the window, then continued to elude the officers as he drove through Warren County and then into Hunterdon County.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Hackettstown police terminated the pursuit on Route 31 in Glen Gardner, police said.
Ivens was eventually arrested in Hunterdon County and charged with possession of 14 glassine baggies of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic syringe, tampering with evidence, obstruct administration of law, resisting arrest, reckless driving, failure to give proper signal, failure to maintain lane, improper passing, littering from a motor vehicle, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle.
Ivens was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility.
