WCCC Offering Dialysis Tech Course
Are you an Allied Health Professional with national certification as a Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, or Medical Assistant?
PHILLIPSBURG (Sept. 17, 2015) – For those who are looking to break into the burgeoning healthcare field, Warren County Community College is pleased to offer a dialysis technician program that is the ONLY ONE offered in this region.
The dialysis program provides students with necessary knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of a dialysis technician including operating a kidney dialysis machine, performing procedures, recording vital signs, and administering local anesthetics and drugs. This course does not include a National or State certification as part of its overall objectives, and no internship is required. Students must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED and be certified as a CNA, Phlebotomy Technician, or CMA. CPR certification is required for most related employment.
The course will be held at the Phillipsburg Education Center. The dialysis course will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Tuesday, Oct. 19 and ending Dec. 9 (no class Thanksgiving) from 6-9:30 p.m. Tuition is $999 and includes all books and materials.
