Burlington County Man Who Approached White House Due in Court Monday

There is no apparent connection between Kevin Carr and a man who scaled the White House fence on Friday, according to the Associated Press.

The Burlington County man who was arrested after approaching the White House gate over the weekend is due in court on Monday on charges of unauthorized access and related crimes, according to philly.com.

There is no connection between the incident involving Kevin Carr, 19, of Shamong, Burlington County, and a man who scaled the White House fence armed with a knife one day earlier, according to an Associated Press report on the Burlington County Times’ website.

Carr drove up to a gate at the White House on Saturday after previously approaching a separate gate on the northwest side of the complex on foot.

He was unarmed, but the incident took place one day after Omar J. Gonzalez, 42, of Copperas Cove, Texas, climbed over the fence on the north side of the complex and ran toward the front of the White House.

He was armed with a knife.

Gonzalez was apprehended by Secret Service after ignoring their commands to stop.

He faces charges of unlawfully entering a restricted building or grounds while carrying a deadly or dangerous weapon, and was scheduled to make his first appearance in court on Monday, according to the Associated Press.

There are no indications the incidents are connected, but they have brought additional scrutiny to the Secret Service, according to the Associated Press.
