Camden Mayor Recognizes Catholic Partnership Schools in 10th Year

Proclamation Declared Nov. 7 "Catholic Partnership Schools Day" in the City, Acknowledged Success Grooming City's Kids for High School

Camden Mayor Frank Moran returned to St. Joseph Pro-Cathedral School, where he once coached basketball, to declare Nov. 7, 2018, “Catholic Partnership Schools Day” in the city, a recognition of the Catholic Partnership’s 10th anniversary and its astonishing success in preparing the city’s children for higher education. During the event, he and Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr., along with CPS Executive Director Karen Dietrich, police officers and other city partners, took a student-led tour of the school, and the Mayor even played some hoops with a gym class.

Soon after, commemorative banners were hung on city streets outside Saint Joseph Pro-Cathedral, Holy Name School, Sacred Heart School and Saint Anthony of Padua School. CPS also operates Saint Cecilia School in Pennsauken. Its students go on to graduate high school at a rate of 99 percent, and 79 percent of those go on to college. (Photos by Dorriane Judge)
