Census Hiring Event At Haddon Township Library Next Week
The U.S. Census Bureau is looking to hire more than 3,000 Camden County residents to work on the 2020 Census.
HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — The U.S. Census Bureau is looking to hire more than 3,000 Camden County residents to work on the 2020 Census, Camden County officials announced. Part-time workers will be tasked with following up with households that don’t voluntarily complete the Census form.
Most positions will pay $16.50 an hour and are ideal for individuals looking to supplement their income or who are looking for flexible, part-time work. The application form is available online, but numerous application sites will be open for residents who don’t have a computer or Internet access.
The William G. Rohrer Memorial Library in Haddon Township is one of those sites that will be open from Oct. 21-26. All sites, during their normal hours of operation, will have staff on-hand to assist individuals with their application and to answer any questions they might have about the application process.

“While the Bureau is expecting to hire 3,000 workers, we will likely need five or six times as many applicants to make sure that all of those positions can be filled,” Camden County Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez said. “Applying is easy and those who get hired will have the ability to work evenings and weekends with extra hours available for those who are successful in the position. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside your neighbors and to serve your community.
Applications are already open, and job offers will begin to be made as soon as January 2020. This is your chance to take part in a fundamentally important part of our democracy and to have a role in history. Making sure our community is counted accurately affects everything from the number of representatives we receive to our ability to build and maintain roads and bridges.”
