Expect Traffic Delays For Part Of Friday In These Camden County Towns

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — The 39th annual New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run will take place on Friday throughout the Garden State, benefactors and organizers of the annual fundraising event said.

The day-long event encompasses 300 New Jersey towns and 750 miles of its roads, and some of those municipalities and stretches of highway lie within Camden County.

Below, find some of the most populous Camden County towns where organizers said the run will pass through.

Towns with (8) next to their name should expect the torch runners to come through their municipality sometime between 5:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday, according to the Special Olympics.

The town with (14) next to its name should expect the torch runners to come through their municipality between 7 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Friday, according to the Special Olympics.

While the delays in each town will not be the entire length of time listed, drivers should seek an alternate route as much as possible during these times if they cannot afford to have their travels to be delayed on Friday, authorities said.

The run raises funds for New Jersey's Special Olympics Team, according to multiple police departments. In the nearly four decades the event has been held, participating police departments have raised about $2.1 million, Special Olympics said.
