Haddon Township Girls Basketball Team Falls In State Semifinals

Bound Brook defeated Haddon Township, 49-41, at Deptford High School, according to nj.com.

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Haddon Township High School girls basketball team's run to a state title came to an end in the semifinals, as the South Jersey champion fell to Bound Brook at Deptford High School.
Bound Brook defeated Haddon Township, 49-41, in the NJSIAA State Group 1 playoff semifinals on March 9, according to nj.com. Cameron Ward lead the way for Bound Brook with 23 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Grace Marshall lead Haddon Township with 17 points and three rebounds. Karlee Hart had eight points and two rebounds, and Madison Bradley had seven points and nine rebounds.

Haddon Township was virtually unchallenged en route to the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 1 championship. This included a dominating performance in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 1 championship game, where the top-seeded Hawks defeated No. 6 Woodbury, 65-29.

Bradley lead the way in the final with 22 points, followed by Marshall with 18. The Hawks jumped out to a 22-6 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Despite the lopsided score, Woodbury actually put out the highest offensive output of any of Haddon Township's playoff opponents.

In the first round, Haddon Township defeated No. 16 Clayton, 51-16. Bradley had 13 points for a Haddon Township offense that saw 10 different players score. The defense allowed just three Clayton players to make the scoreboard.

Up next, Haddon Township downed No. 8 Audubon, 43-11.Offensively, Lindsey Roche had 11 points, followed by Lindsey Getzinger with 10. Defensively, Audubon had just three players score.

The semifinals saw Haddon Township defeat No. 4 Palmyra, 47-17.Bradley had 11 points, and the defense shut out Palmyra, 14-0, in the second quarter.

The scores were similar to what Haddon Township has done throughout the season in compiling a 25-5 record. Most scores were lopsided, although the Hawks beat Haddonfield by just two points, 39-37, on Jan. 31, and they did lose four games during the regular season.
