Haddonfield Named Among 10 Best By USA Today
Haddonfield finished second among the Best Small Town Cultural Scenes in the United States.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — Haddonfield has been named among the Top 10 towns by USA Today for the third consecutive year.
It has been named among the ‘Best Small Town Cultural Scenes’ by USA Today’s 10 Best Readers Choice travel awards. It finished second behind only Chautauqua, New York.
“We are overjoyed to be recognized by the readers of USA Today for not one, not two, but three years in a row,” Haddonfield Mayor Neal Rochford said. “We in Haddonfield pride ourselves in our one-of-a-kind Downtown experience with beautiful tree-lined streets and well-preserved historic buildings that now are home to over 200 businesses. We hope that this continued recognition will encourage those who haven’t experienced our historic town, to come and visit for the day when in the Delaware Valley area.”

“One of the best small towns in the Delaware Valley, particularly for shopping and dining, Haddonfield is one of the oldest communities in the region, occupied by European settlers since the late 1600s. The downtown area features more than 200 shops and art galleries, as well as restaurants ranging from casual fish and chips shops to candlelit dining rooms. The Haddonfield Plays & Players put on dramatic productions, while the Markeim Arts Center hosts classes, art camps and exhibitions throughout the year.”

For the USA Today award, voting took place online through June 29. USA Today 10Best was created by a team of travel experts — a well-traveled and well-educated group who are not only experts in their fields, and their cities, but discriminating in their tastes. These local experts live in the cities they write about, so the content is constantly updated.
Visitors to Haddonfield are encouraged to explore history starting at The Indian King Tavern Museum. The museum is located where the NJ General Assembly ratified the Declaration of Independence in 1777. The Tavern Museum is recognized as a Historic Landmark and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
For the art lover, Haddonfield offers public outdoor art exhibitions that populate Downtown locations with contemporary outdoor sculptures and statues. One of these must-see statues is Haddy, the eight-foot-high statue of a Hadrosaurus Foulkii dinosaur, located in the center of the shopping district. The statue commemorates the 1858 discovery of the world's first complete dinosaur skeleton near the very spot where it was found.
