Haddonfield, NJ -- A total of 15 businesses have registered for a program that offers tax rebates ton residents who shop local in Haddonfield, njpen.com reports.
They are offering discounts of 3.75 percent to 15 percent, with some limitations, according to the report.
Residents pay full price, and a third-party processor debits the discounted amount directly, according to the report. At the end of the year, residents receive a deduction equal to their discount.

A portion of the sales, 2 percent, goes to that processor, Marlboro-based Fincredit, the company that oversees the program, which was launched in Marlboro in 2012.
Residents acquire a rebate card from their town, and local businesses are equipped with machines that read the card. They then see the savings on their property tax bill, according to the Asbury Park Press.
