High Honors For Some Haddonfield Residents

HADDONFIELD, NJ — By the end of the weekend, more than one dozen Haddonfield residents, past and present, will be honored at ceremonies that pay tribute to their talent, interest and experience, according to award presenters.

The ceremonies began Thursday night, when the Haddonfield Civic Association presented Lisa Quanci with its Alfred E. Driscoll Award. The award is named after former Haddonfield resident and late Governor Driscoll.

The group also presented awards to three students:

• Alexis Hochgertel, a Haddonfield Memorial High School Senior, received the Bradshaw Literary Award for her "thoughtful and creative response to a civic-oriented writing prompt;"
• Scott Vaughn, another Haddonfield Memorial High School Senior, received the Kaufmann Performing Arts Award for displaying the award namesake's "twin passions of civic engagement and participation in the performing arts;" and
• CeCe Fitzgerald received the 2022 Quanci Visual Arts Award.

Coincidentally, the Haddonfield Civic Association is 100 years old this year.

Then on Saturday, the Haddonfield Memorial High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee hold its induction ceremony. Those being inducted into the hall this year are:

• David Krier, Class of 1971 (posthumously)
• Paul Wiedeman, Class of 1989
• Ryan Roberts, Class of 1998
• George S. Wilkinson III, Class of 1998
• Kristina Keegan Bonesteel, Class of 2003
• Kara (Hyde) Swift, Class of 2003
• Julie Sobolewski, Class of 2004
• Kyle Turner, Class of 2004
• Vanessa Wright, Class of 2006
• Brian Zoubek, Class of 2006

Past recipients of this award have received a plaque with their name and a short biography about them placed in the high school hallway.
