Indoor Kart Racing Facility Could Ride Into S.J.

A state-of-the-art indoor kart-racing center could find a home soon in South Jersey.

Kimco Realty Corporation will testify in Cinnaminson next week to request a variance and site plan approval for Speed Raceway.

“What this provides is more of a family entertainment option for Cinnaminson and the surrounding communities that isn’t currently available anywhere else,” said Cinnaminson Committeeman Anthony Minniti.

Speed Raceway currently operates in Denver, Colorado. Its location there boasts of European-style kart racing, conference rooms, arcade games and a concession area, according to its website. The karts are entirely indoors and operate electrically. There is a barrier system for protection and two safety operators on hand. The conference rooms in Denver are equipped with a projector, screen, flip charts and more and there are rooms for birthday parties, too.

The South Jersey facility could open in the spring.
