Man Charged in Monday Afternoon Murder in Camden

Vincent Coleman, 29, has been charged with murder in the death of 27-year-old Vincent Burnett.

A Camden man has been charged in connection with murder in the shooting death of a man in the city Monday afternoon.

Vincent Coleman, 29, has been charged with murder in the death of 27-year-old Vincent Burnett, of Camden, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced on Wednesday.

Coleman is accused of shooting Burnett multiple times in the area of Thurman and Pershing streets in Camden.

He was captured by a U.S. Marshals Task Force Tuesday afternoon at a residence on Chase Street in Camden.

According to a witness, Coleman had recently warned Burnett to stay away from the area of Thurman and Pushing streets.

Police were summoned to the area around 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Upon arrival, they discovered Burnett on the ground after being shot multiple times.

He was transported to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:57 p.m.
