New State Aid Figures Announced For Haddonfield, Haddon Schools
Haddonfield schools will see a reduction in state aid from what was initially announced in February, but there is no change for Haddon Twp.
Gov. Phil Murphy released new state aid figures on Wednesday, including the specifics on the state aid that has been allocated for the Haddonfield and Haddon Township school districts.
The Haddonfield School District will receive $1,769,239 in state aid for the 2020-21 school year. This is down by $180,481 from the $1,949,720 in state aid announced by the state in February, before the coronavirus pandemic took hold.
However, it is up from the $1,685,574 in state aid the district received for the 2019-20 school year. The difference is $83,665, or 5 percent.

There was no change in the aid allocated for the Haddon Township Public School District, which will receive $8,088,359. However, it is less than the $8,208,724 the district received last year. It is down by $120,365, or 1.5 percent.

Funding for all school districts remains consistent with what Murphy announced in July, keeping the state on track to fully fund public schools. The first day of school is Sept. 8 and districts across the state and country are still working on ways to reopen amid the coronavirus pandemic. Both local districts are working on a mix of in-person and remote learning.
