A South Jersey man convicted of murdering a man using a compound bow and arrow in 2013 has a new sentencing date.
Timothy Canfield, 31, of Berlin Borough, was previously convicted of aggravated manslaughter, three counts of hindering apprehension or prosecution and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in the death of 25-year-old Kereti Paulsen, of Cape May Courthouse.
He faces the possibility of 55 years in prison at sentencing, which had been scheduled for next week. On Friday, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office announced that his new sentencing date is June 10. No reason for the change of date was given.

Canfield killed Paulsen as he was walking away from a home on North Brill Avenue in Berlin Borough following an argument with a group of people on Jan. 28, 2013, according to the prosecutor’s office.
During the trial, witnesses testified that Canfield went into the home and retrieved his compound bow and quiver containing several arrows, according to the prosecutor’s office. Canfield then went back outside and shot Paulsen in the rear driveway of the home, according to the prosecutor’s office.

After shooting Paulsen, Canfield called 911 pretending to be the victim, provided false information to police about his involvement in the homicide, and concealed evidence by hiding the compound bow and arrows in a wooded area in Winslow Township, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Canfield pleaded self-defense, but the jury rejected that claim and found him guilty, according to the prosecutor’s office.
