South Jersey High School Football Group 2 Playoff Outlook

Haddonfield is one of three undefeated teams, West Deptford has one loss and Cedar Creek and Collingswood are still alive.

The Haddonfield High School football team is one of three undefeated teams heading into the South Jersey Group II playoffs.

The Bulldawgs secured an 8-0 record with a 56-0 win over Haddon Township on Friday, according to nj.com.

It kept pace with Buena, which improved to 9-0 with a win over Lower Cape May on Friday, and Camden (8-0) which had a bye week.

Haddonfield was No. 3 in this week’s power points standings, behind No. 1 Camden and No. 2 Buena.

Glassboro was No. 4 and improved to 7-1 on Friday with a win over Penns Grove.

No. 5 West Deptford had a bye week, No. 6 Barnegat lost to Matawan, No. 7 Woodstown won by one point and No. 8 Cedar Creek was scheduled to play on Saturday.

With the loss, Barnegat fell to 6-2. No. 9 Collingswood defeated Woodbury, 28-6, to improve to 6-2 on Friday, keeping alive the Panthers’ hopes of making the playoffs.

The top eight teams in each group after the first eight games of the season qualify for the playoffs. Only a team’s seven best wins of their first eight games count toward qualifying for the playoffs.

Power points are calculated based on the size of the schools a team has defeated, and the number of wins that team has.

The playoffs begin next weekend, and matchups will be announced on Sunday.
