What's Happening In Haddonfield: Townwide Events Set For October
Here's a look at some events taking place in Haddonfield in October.
HADDONFIELD, NJ — Downtown Haddonfield is celebrating the first full autumn month with town-wide specials, events, and hands-on and interactive learning classes. Here is a list of upcoming events, courtesy the Partnership for Haddonfield:
October Beginner and Intermediate Classes

An inviting neighborhood art workshop where children, teens, and adults come to be creative, socialize, and never worry about getting a little messy! Stay young at heart, … PLAY at ART! The weekly class schedule is as follows:

Pottery: Wheel Throwing – Tuesdays, October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
Jewelry Beading – Wednesdays, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
Pottery: Hand Building – Thursdays, October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
Jewelry Beading – Thursdays, October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
Cost per class is $35. Space is limited to eight people per class. All classes are held from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Anatolia Art Craft Studio
Sit, chat, share and play with fiber materials with Ylvia Asal of Anatolia Art Craft Studio! Learn the basic stitches of crochet, knitting, lace-making, and embroidery. With the skills you’ll learn, you’ll be able to create your own projects by the end of class. The weekly class schedule is as follows:
Crocheting – Tuesdays, October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
Knitting – Wednesdays, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
Embroidery – Thursdays, October 3, 10, 17, 31
Lacemaking – Fridays, October 4, 11, 18, 25
Cost per class is $35. Space is limited to six people per class. All classes are held from 10 a.m.- noon and from 6-8 p.m.

Working with children to creatively explore and experiment in all different art mediums. Moms can be hands on, or relax with other moms in the studio. Cost is $15 per toddler, $10 for siblings. Drop-ins welcome.

Toddler Time
Mondays through Thursdays in October – 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Play at Art
Working with children to creatively explore and experiment in all different art mediums. Adults do not need to attend, but may if they choose. Cost is daily: $25/$20 for siblings, or full 4-day week: $85/$75 siblings. Drop-ins welcome.

After School Artists
Play at Art
Students will become familiar with multiple mediums and work surfaces in 2-D and 3-D, and be able to choose their own projects to explore their individual interests. Rolling admission for three, six, or nine week sign-ups with flexible scheduling and make-ups. Classes for ages 4 – 10 years old are every Monday or Thursday, and ages 10 – 15 years old are every Tuesday or Wednesday.

Author Gilbert Gaul, ‘The Geography of Risk’

Fall Festival and Juried Craft Show
Saturday, October 12 – 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Celebrate the change of seasons with a day of fun at Haddonfield’s Fall Festival and Juried Craft Show – a day-long event featuring more than 100 crafters offering seasonal items and decor, pottery, clothing, glassware and more. Many of Haddonfield’s town organizations will have tables along Kings Highway between Haddon Avenue and the PATCO Speedline; and crafters will be lined up along Kings Highway, as well as Tanner Street. Organization representatives will be on hand to educate and inform attendees about their specific organization and their list of activities. Back by popular demand, scarecrow making will take place in Kings Court from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Carriage Rides will also be available to festival goers from noon - 3 p.m. at Kings Court. Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the day. The day also features a special Sweet Sixteen birthday celebration for our beloved Haddy! The celebration begins at noon at Haddy Lane and will feature dino-themed merchandise and birthday cake. Visit with our town’s many volunteer organizations and join in on all the fun!

Ladies, save the date for this fall’s Girls’ Night Out! event on Thursday, October 17 in the Downtown. Spend a girls’ night walking along the charming streets, dining in award-winning restaurants, and discovering all the surprises, specials, and deals throughout the Downtown. One shop may feature great percentages off your entire purchase; another could have a BOGO or half off specials; and yet another store may be offering refreshments and enter-to-win contests. Jersey Java and Tea Co.’s 10 Year Anniversary
Saturday, October 19
Jersey Java and Tea Co., a quaint coffee shop at the corner of Redman and Haddon Avenues, is celebrating its 10th year in business on Saturday, October 19. The celebration includes a coffee tasting at 9 a.m., Jersey Java Throwback Trivia at 10 a.m., a Latte Art Throw Down at 11 a.m., and a variety of musicians performing throughout the day from 1 to 7 p.m. Jersey Java and Tea serves small-batch specialty coffee, a selection of loose teas and house-baked sweet and savory goods.
