Woman, 76, Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Camden Co.

The investigation is still underway, and no charges have been filed.

WOODLYNNE, NJ — A vehicle struck and killed a woman Thursday night in Woodlynne, authorities told Patch.

The collision happened at about 7:35 p.m. at the intersection of Ferry and Parker avenues. The pedestrian — a 76-year-old woman — was brought to Cooper Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after, officials said.

The driver stayed at the scene after the crash, according to a spokesperson for the Camden County Police Department. The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed as of late Monday morning.

Officials have not disclosed the identities of the pedestrian or driver.

The incident marked the area's second-reported pedestrian death in as many days. An unknown driver fatally struck a woman and fled the scene Wednesday in nearby Camden, authorities said.

Last month, the Camden County Police Department assumed local law-enforcement duties for Woodlynne — a small town sandwiched between Camden and Collingswood. The Woodlynne Police Department is disbanding because of a severe staffing shortage.
