Woman Shot In Head, Killed On Porch Of South Jersey Home: Cops

A woman was killed after she was shot in the head while standing on the porch of her South Jersey home over the weekend.

Erica S. McNair, 44, of Bridgeton, was standing on her porch with two people when the shots rang out early Saturday morning, Aug. 11, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office. After the shooting, two unknown people ran from the area. Multiple gunshell casings were recovered.

Police responded to the scene just after 1:30 a.m. and found that McNair had been shot in the head. She was transported to Inspira Medical Center in Vineland before being taken to Cooper Medical Center. McNair later died as a result of her injuries.

The prosecutor’s office and the Bridgeton Police Department are investigating, but have had difficulty finding witnesses to cooperate, according to the prosecutor’s office. Anyone with information may contact CCPO Detective James Riley at 856-982-6256.
