Bergen Aeronautics Student Cuts Artery Open, Police Help Save His Life
Police immediately responded and applied a tourniquet, which helped stop the bleeding.

Police Wednesday morning helped save the life of a Teterboro Aeronautics School student who cut open an artery while working on a car while it was running.
The 22-year-old student cut an artery on his right wrist open while he was working on a bumper on his car at about 11 a.m., said Joe Pentangelo, a Port Authority Police spokesperson. The student's arm slipped and hit a blade on the engine's fan, cutting open the artery.
Port Authority Police applied a tourniquet to the man's arm, which stopped the bleeding, and he was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment.
