The Aviators hosted Northern Highland Regional in front of a gym-packed audience. Northern Highland, ranked fifth in the county, took control early.
“This was a great test for us,” stated Aviator’s assistant coach, Luke Jackson. “For us to go against a legitimate powerhouse shows us where we are and what we’ve got to do to improve.”
Third- year wrestler, Dmetri Tubito, added, “Northern Valley probably thought that they would just come here and win without too much trouble, but we gave them a fight.”

Fight they did. Though at one point the Aviators had been down 24-4, they were able to slowly gain points to cut into the lead.
However, in the end, the Scotty Dogs proved to be too much, and this does not necessarily mean that the Aviators have to change any particular strategy or approach to their matches.

“We don’t have to change anything so much as we just need to develop,” said Jackson. “This will come as the boys get more experience.”
