Bergen Animal Shelter Will Put Rabbits In Hoarding Case Up For Adoption
The rabbits were among the 300 rescued from deplorable conditions at a North Jersey home Friday.

Some of the 300 rabbits rescued at a North Jersey home Friday will be put up for adoption once the Bergen County Animal Shelter is done caring for them.
The Teterboro-based shelter has more than a dozen of the rabbits. Once the rabbits are spayed, neutered, and “medically evaluated,” they will be placed on the shelter’s Facebook page and may be adopted.
More than a dozen rescue organizations from throughout the East Coast rescued the rabbits. About 100 of them were found outside in cages, "full of feces," an NJ.com report stated. More than two-dozen Guinea pigs and a calf were also on the property.

The number of rabbits rescued is expected to increase “significantly” soon as many were pregnant. Some have given birth already, said Jessica Stith, a volunteer helping the organizations get the animals adopted.
Stith launched an online campaign to help get the $30,000 in donations needed to spay and neuter the rabbits.
