Borough Continues to Seek Use for Old Fire Horn Tower Lot
A nearby property owner may be interested in purchasing the 25-foot lot sits between two properties.

The borough has received interest from a nearby property owner who may consider purchasing the 25-foot lot on Williams Avenue which houses the last old fire horn tower which was part of the borough’s long since defunct emergency alert system.
During a recent work session meeting, Mike Kronyak borough administrator, reported that the borough is currently waiting for a proposal from the interested property owner. The borough will also need to see if other contiguous property owners are possibly interested in the property.
Borough officials have been seeking a use for the lot however there have not been many options as the size of the lot is very small and sits between two homes. The old tower can be seen from the road however much of it is covered by overgrown branches.

The old fire horn system has been out of commission for about 12 to 15 years, and has been replaced with new and improved technology which the borough currently uses.
Previously there were three or four other fire horn towers in the borough, all of which have been disassembled over the years as the lots had since been purchased by nearby property owners.
