Connor O'Brien Inducted into Saint Peter's Prep Honor Society

The senior is the son of Jennifer and John O'Brien of Hasbrouck Heights

Hasbrouck Heights’ Connor O’Brien was one of 52 seniors at Saint Peter’s Preparatory School in Jersey City to be inducted into the McNally-Sinnott Chapter of the National Honor Society.

O’Brien, the son of Jennifer and John O’Brien, was honored during a recent ceremony held at the school. The National Honor Society induction recognizes students for their excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character, according to James C. DeAngelo, school principal.

Highlights of the induction ceremony included reflections on the four areas of excellence that have defined NHS members since the society’s creation in 1921, given by the chapter's officers for this year. Incoming president Mike Geltrude (Nutley) spoke on leadership; vice president Alex Garber (Short Hills) on character; secretary Joseph Walter (Bayonne) on service; and treasurer Ryan Ulrich (North Arlington) on scholarship.  The chapter’s Moderators are Sr. Frances Marie Duncan, OSF of the Science Department and Michael Settembrino, ’01 of the Mathematics Department.
