Face To Face With: Bowler Mark Robinson

Sophomore bowler is this week's featured athlete

Mark Robinson is not your typical high school sophomore. Though he enjoys playing video games and being with his friends, Robinson also plays for the Aviators varsity bowling team (since he was a freshman), and as good as he is, he continues to improve.

“I love bowling, and try to play as much as I can,” stated Robinson, an athlete who also participates in basketball and track when he’s not bowling.

Robinson was selected to the region’s fourth -team this year, the reward for bowling a staggering 180 average.

During a recent match against St. Mary’s High School, Robinson bowled a 231, which catapulted his team to victory.

Robinson also has aspirations for bowling professionally once he is older, but he also understands that his formal education is more important.

“I would love to be a pro one day, but I want to graduate from college first.” he said.

“Mark is very well-liked and a good kid,” said bowling coach Nick Delcalzo. “His teammates love him and he gets along with everybody.”
