Hasbrouck Heights Man Charged Following Cocaine Distribution Investigation: Prosecutor

Nelson Casillas was charged following an investigation that he was allegedly distributing cocaine throughout Bergen County, authorities said

A Hasbrouck Heights man was charged following an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, authorities said.

Nelson Casillas, 54, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely cocaine, in a quantity of five ounces or more, a first-degree crime, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

Members of the task force received information that Casillas and Garvey Pyron were distributing cocaine throughout Bergen County and began watching them, authorities said.

While conducting surveillance, authorities saw Casillas meet with Pyron in Paterson; later authorities saw the men meeting with Erick Laboy, Molinelli said; authorities stopped Casillas in his vehicle and Pryon and Laboy who were in another vehicle.

Authorities obtained warrants and search Pryon’s vehicle and home, Molinelli said. They found 350 grams of suspected cocaine in the vehicle and a handgun and drug-packaging materials in his home.

As a result of the investigation, Pyron, 47, of Paterson, Laboy, 42, were each charged with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely cocaine, in a quantity of five ounces or more.

Bail was Pyron and Laboy was set at $100,000 each with no 10 percent option. Casillas’ bail was set at $75,000 with no 10 percent option.

The three men were remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail. They were scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
