HHSA Girls Champions Honored by Mayor and Council

The season for honoring champions in the borough continues as the mayor and council presented certificates to four Hasbrouck Heights Soccer Association girls teams Tuesday night.

“I can’t believe how many champions we have had in the last couple of months,” commented Councilman Justin DiPisa who added that this was the largest group they had seen yet to which Mayor Rose Heck agreed.  

Both DiPisa and Councilwoman Sonya Buckman handed certificates to the four teams who earned championships in the 2010 season. The U-10 girls team who won the South Bergen championship and the U-10 girls who earned the Northern County Soccer Association championship. The U-12 girls also won the SBSL for 2010 and the U-14 team.

Both the U-10 teams were undefeated this year according to their coaches. The U-12 team went 19-0 and the U-14 team won its second championship two years in a row. Coach Frank Pinto commented that many of these girls will be moving on to the high school next year and he expects to see them all on the field at the high school.

The 2010 SBSL U-10 Girls Champions are: Kate Bothe, Kylie Crecco, Alyssa Demone, Amanda Gasparino, Kelly Innis, Olivia Licini, Olivia Marinelli, Erin Murphy, Julia Murphy, Emma Nichols, Helen Nigro, Renee Perdona, Lamari Schuler, Daniella Smith and Natalie Stefanelli. Coaches are Rita Pedomo, Debra Demone, Francesco Licini and Rob Bothe.

The 2010 NCSA U-10 Girls Champions are: Michelle Artuso, Sarah Bailey, Alexis Blanco, Brianna Blanco, Nicole Blanco, Tori Buckman, Hannah Christensen, Gabriella Cruz, Amanda DeJulia, Jessica Gaffney, Jessica Gasparino, Madeline Kalmowitz, Micah Nollora, Ciara Perfetti, Michelle Schwartz, Alyssa Volpe, Rachel Weber and Melanie Wexler. Coaches are Phil Artuso and Frank Gasparino.

The 2010 SBSL U-12 Girls Champions are: Sarah Bailey, Tori Buckman, Hannah Christensen, Amanda DeJulia, Jessica Gaffney, Jessica Gasparino, Madeline Kalmowitz, Kayla Lisa, Sydni Masiello, Kasey Otazu, Kate Palmieri, Erin Scannell, Victoria Vizzachero, Rachel Weber and Sheridan Wheeler. Coaches are Mike Christensen, Dean Masiello, Andrew Gaffney and Frank Gasparino.

The 2010 SBSL U-14 Girls Champions are: Hannah Bailey, Megan Bischoff, Ornella Borsani, Heather Clifford, Kerry DeAngelo, Destiny Foster, Natalie Garcia, Melissa Hartley, Bianco Magsino, Shannon Matthews, Stefanie Pagan, Melanie Parisi, Marissa Pinto, Tiffany Rodriguez, Diana Torres, Gabriella Tuzzo, Jennifer Varga and Rianna Volpe.
