The sound of sneakers pounding against the gym floor and the chant of “jump, jump, jump” filled the room as the students took turns jumping for a good cause.
Students at and elementary schools took part in the annual Jump Rope for Heart event in support of the American Heart Association on Wednesday, as they do every year.
Lincoln School is also home to the only Jump Rope for Heart demo team in the state.

Children are given envelopes with which to raise funds for the American Heart Association and have until Jan. 20 to turn in the donations they raised, according to Lesa Brinker, principal of Lincoln School.
