Middle School Class of 2011 is now the High School Class of 2015
Graduation ceremonies for the middle school eighth grade took place Friday evening
Friday evening all 142 members of the Hasbrouck Heights Middle School Class of 2011 became the Hasbrouck Heights High School Class of 2015.
Parents and family members filled the auditorium at the Bergen Academies in Hackensack to watch their children move on to the next step in their education.
Principal Linda Simmons told the class members that she was not with them long as she moved to the middle school earlier this year but the first thing she noticed about them was their bond with their teachers. She told them she enjoyed watching that bond and as they move on to high school where they will find themselves experiencing “bumps in the road” they should proudly think of their school colors of orange and black. Simmons told them that when they do they will feel the pride and walk right over those bumps.

Simmons brought a tradition which she began during her time as principal of Euclid School to the Middle School with the unveiling of the Class of 2011 commemorative tile which will be displayed in the middle school halls.
Dr. Mark Porto, superintendent of schools, told the class that in exactly four years and 2 ½ hours they will be up on this stage once again as members of the Class of 2015. He gave them a motivational talk encouraging them to begin thinking about what they will need in the coming years – “two blank pieces of paper”- their transcript and their resume, which they should begin working on tomorrow.

Beta Club President Morgan McCabe reflected on the many memories of the past three years including the eighth grade Washington DC trip and their New York themed formal.
