BOE Reorganization Meeting Moved to Friday
New board members will be sworn in; special education director is expected to be announced

The four newly elected trustees of the will be sworn in during the reorganization meeting Friday evening, May 6 which will be held at a special time of 5:30 p.m. in the high school media center.
This will allow ample time for the swearing in ceremony, matters of business and a reception which will follow the meeting.

Last Wednesday the community showed its support for the 2011-2012 it with a vote of 694 in favor and 564 against. The $25,917,317 school budget, with a tax levy of $23,876,774 tax levy, which is the amount that is actually funded by taxpayers will cost taxpayers an additional $54 a year on a house appraised at $436,000.
Debra Bruno, Lillian Romano, Robert Salerno and Joseph Samperi were elected to the board last Wednesday during the annual school election.

“I want to thank all of my supporters for electing me to the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education. I appreciate their confidence in me and will work toward continued excellence in our school system. Also, I thank my fellow residents for supporting our budget,” Bruno told Patch a few days after the election.
“I congratulate the board members who were elected along with me, and I look forward to working with all of the members to make our school district one of outstanding distinction,” she continued.
