Euclid Parents Give Back to Teachers

Euclid School PTA arranges a week full of activities and events for Teacher's Appreciation Week that even get the students involved.

Each day this week the teachers of will be treated to a special event, be given a gift, a surprise, all as a token of thanks from the parents for the work they do all year as the school PTA recognizes National Teacher Appreciation Week.

All the schools in Hasbrouck Heights recognize teachers appreciation week. Lincoln School celebrated last week and the middle and high school the week before. Denise Buckman of the Euclid PTA says it's a nice way for the parents to show their teachers they really do appreciate what they do all year round. Buckman and Christine Thibault organized all the activities for this week of appreciation.

Monday the PTA will serve up a continental breakfast in the teacher's lounge. Tuesday is a fun Bingo event which is fun for the students to. Each classroom will have its own Bingo sheet posted up on the blackboard. The PTA members will call out the numbers over the load speaker and the students will take marking up their Bingo board with post-its. The teacher of the winning class will win a prize, Buckman and Thibalt explained.

Wednesday the teachers will be treated to a special catered luncheon which was put together by PTA member Vicky Viola, explained PTA president Terri Metz.

Thursday the teachers will be presented with a special gift which Buckman explained is a surprise. During past years the PTA has given the teachers gifts like toaster oven and a microwave.

Festivities end Friday with a big raffle event. The PTA has put together 21 themed-gift baskets which they will raffle off to teachers. Parents donated items and they also had some business owners contribute gift cards and items for the baskets, said Thibault.
