Pilot Reports Landing Gear Trouble, Diverts Plane From Teterboro
Breaking: The plane had 5 people aboard.

TETERBORO, NJ — A LearJet slated to land at Teterboro Airport Thursday morning was diverted to another airport after the pilot reported having landing gear problems, authorities said.
The pilot reported having issues with the nose landing gear and decided to go to Stewart Airport, said Joe Pentangelo, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman. Stewart International Airport is 57 miles away from Teterboro in New Windsor, New York.
The plane had five people aboard, Pentangelo said. It was not clear how many were passengers and how many were crew members.

The plane landed at 11:51 a.m., Pentangelo said. It was not damaged.
The pilot flew by the air traffic control tower at Stewart Airport and asked people to confirm that the front landing gear was deployed before landing, Pentangelo said.

Local police and fire personnel were standing by on the ground at Teterboro prior to the plane heading to Stewart Airport, Pentangelo said.
