READER PHOTOS: Euclid Gifted and Talented Students Get Special Visit

Students learn about the native creatures from many of the continents they are studying.

Students in the Gifted and Talented program, who have been learning about the continents of Antartica, Australia and Africa, got a special treat last week as they got to see animals from these continents up close and personal.

During the one-hour program which is held on Thursdays after school, the students took part in the show "Outragehisssss. .. Pets" where they learned about the animals of these continents and some of the students even got to pet a big snake, a red eyed tree frog, a flying "squirrel" and more.

The Gifted and Talented program is run by teachers Suzanne Gallo and Samantha Brander. The proram is designed to assist in the development thought processess to meet the challenges of an ever changing and technologically advancing global society. Students participate in a variety of activities where comprehensive awareness of change is explored, patterns discovered and concepts formulated to encourage a lifelong desire for learning.

The program ended Friday with a trip to Turtle Back Zoo. The program will resume in February.
