Starz Travelling Baseball Team Defeats Montvale Titans
First away game of the season results in 12-7 victory

The Hasbrouck Heights Starz travelling baseball team went on the road for the first time this season and defeated the Montvale Titans by a score of 12-7. This extra inning thriller was won not by one or two individuals but it was truly a team effort.
Spencer Lee took the mound to start the game. Lee pitched three great innings, striking out four and did not give up a hit with help of great fielding. Catcher, Anthony Marino, was aggressive behind the plate preventing the Titans from stealing an extra base. On a throw from shortstop, Jeremy Bailey, Marino put down a beautiful tag to prevent the run from scoring. Centerfielder, Dylan Grisafe, throw out a Titan as he tried to stretch a single into a double. Michael Robertson vacuumed up anything that came his way at second base. The defense was stellar all afternoon.
The Starz team used their speed to steal bases and manufacture some crucial runs. Jeremy Bailey was quick on his feet turning walks into runs. J. Bailey stole three and score twice. Grisafe had a leadoff double in the third that helped the Starz pick up two more runs. Both Lee and Marino had RBI singles to make the Starz lead 7-2 going to the bottom of the fifth. But these mighty Titans would not give up. The Titans scored four runs in the fifth and had bases loaded with two outs. The Starz would bring in Sean Duffy to the mound.

With one pitch, Duffy would get out of the inning. The Starz did not score in the top of the six. Bottom of the seventh, Duffy was still on the mound. Titans would lead of the inning with single and get the runner to third. The run would come in on a fielder's choice, tying up the game at 7-7. Next batter hits a line drive to left field that is caught by Marc Pagan to save the game for the Starz.
So the Starz go into extra innings. The Titans pick up two quick outs. Then Christopher Thibault, Owen DeCicco, Grisafe, and Pagan pick up big walks. With the bases loaded, Zack Bailey, hits a grand slam. The Starz are back on top 12-7. Duffy would pitch the bottom of the seventh and seal the game for the Starz.

The Starz are now 2-0 for the season and will play home against the North Haledon Reds on Sunday at 2 p.m. Come out and support the team!
