Kistner, who has served as co-chair for the Relay for the Life event which took place in June, said the breast cancer walk was like a carry over from the relay event. She said the relay was such a positive experience for those involved and it’s inspired them to do more for the American Cancer Society.
Kistner explained the event is being done in conjunction with Spirit Week. On Wednesday the students are encouraged to wear pink to school as another way to spread awareness. Each day students earn points for their class by participating in the day’s activity. Tuesday, for example, was Hippie Day where kids were encouraged to wear something that displayed the peace symbol.
