Web Design Students Help with District Site and Other Technology Advances

High school web design students will help with web site

Some additional technological advances may be on the horizon as a result of a web design class offered at the high school this year.

Steve Forte, principal, explained that one of the ideas behind offering the class is to have the students help manage the district’s website.

The students will also be working on developing a way to make the school’s daily announcements available to students via text message.  The project is just in the works stage right now and it is not known when it would be used once it is completed.

The web design class meets at what Forte calls “zero period” at  7 a.m. before other classes start. This was done to offer students additional classes such as this one that there may not be time for throughout the rest of the school day. AP Chemistry and band are also offered during this period, Forte said.
