Zero Increase in State Aid for Municipality
Borough will receive the same amount in state aid it has since 2010

For the second year in a row, the borough will not see an increase in state aid towards its municipal budget for the 2012 year.
Mike Kronyak, borough administrator and chief financial officer, said Thursday the borough is happy to not lose any more money but had hoped to see some more funding this year.
The borough will receive a total of $1,083,148 which is the same amount it received last year, Kronyak confirmed Thursday. Governor Chris Christie cut more than $250,000 in state aid in 2010 and the borough has not seen an increase since those funds were cut.

Although the total amount is the same, Kronyak explained that there is a change in the way the money is distributed. Last year the borough received $1,001,204 in energy tax receipts plus $81,944 in consolidated municipal property tax relief which totals $1,083,148 in state aid.
However this year the amount the borough will receive for the consolidated municipal property tax relief actually went down to $44,763, Kronyak said, however the energy tax receipts distribution amount has been increased to $1,038,385 to make up that difference.
