2 Flemington Women Sentenced For Selling Oxycodone Out Of Home

FLEMINGTON, NJ — Two Flemington women were sentenced Tuesday for allegedly running a drug ring that distributed thousands of Oxycodone pills out of their homes, authorities announced.
Michele Call, 63, of Flemington was sentenced on to 54 months in prison and Nelida Rios, 55, also of Flemington, was sentenced to 48 months in prison. Both previously pleaded guilty to informations charging them each with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute oxycodone, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
Alicia Balaban, 35, of Wellington, Florida is Calls's daughter and DeJulia's friend, is the alleged leader of the drug trafficking conspiracy.

Balaban, Call and Rios allegedly worked together from April 2016 through January 2018 to get prescriptions for Oxycodone, fill them at pharmacies in Flemington and then allegedly distributed thousands of the pills to Marie DeJulia, 42, of Lodi from Call and Rios' homes, Carpenito said.
Thousands of 30 mg oxycodone pills were distributed as a result, according to the documents filed in the case and statements made in court.

In addition to the prison terms, both women were sentenced to three years of supervised release, and fined them each $1,000. Call was ordered to forfeit $40,000 and Rios was ordered to forfeit $42,000.
Balaban and DeJulia have also pleaded guilty and are scheduled to be sentenced next week.
