3 School Board Members Take Oath Of Office In Hillsborough

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Three school board members took the oath of office to serve on the Hillsborough Township Board of Education during the reorganization meeting on Monday night.

Incumbents Allison Laning-Beder, Elaine Jackson, and Jane Staats were all re-elected in the November election over N. Jannah Hameed and Diane Braungard-Galayda.

At the meeting, Paul Marini was once again chosen to serve as Board President. Most of the Board members voted in favor of Marini with Stats and Jean Trujillo abstaining.

Cynthia Nurse was also chosen again to serve as Vice President with the majority of the Board members voting in favor of Nurse except for Trujillo who abstained.

Board Committee Appointments were also established for the 2025-26 school year:

• Operations/Finance: Joel Davis, Jean Trujillo, Danny Lee, Paul Marini
• Human Resources/Communications: Cynthia Nurse, Danny Lee, Allison Laning-Beder, Paul Marini
• Education: Elaine Jackson, Jane Staats, Cassandra Kragh, Paul Marini
• Governance: Elaine Jackson, Joel Davis, Cynthia Nurse, Paul Marini
• Hillsborough Township Liaison: Danny Lee
• Somerset County ESC Liaison: Allison Laning-Beder
• Legislative Representative Liaison: Joel Davis
• Municipal Alliance Representative: Paul Marini
• Garden State Coalition of Schools Representative: Joel Davis
• Somerset County and NJSBA School Delegate: Paul Marini
• Home and School Associations Liaison: Cassandra Kragh

The Hillsborough 2025-2026 Board Meeting Schedule was established. However, the Board discussed adding more dates in March and October.
