Belle Mead Dad Of 2 Killed By NYC Train, Fundraiser Started For Family

The 36-year-old Belle Mead husband and father was killed after being hit by an LIRR train late Friday night, officials said.

BELLE MEAD, NJ — A Somerset County husband and father of two was hit and killed by a train inside Penn Station late Friday night, according to officials.

At about 11:30 p.m., a 36-year-old man was hit by a departing Long Island Rail Road train on Track 17 inside the Midtown transit hub, according to the MTA Police.

First responders rushed to his aid, but the man was declared dead at the scene, officials said.

The MTA Police identified the victim as Keith Harvey, a resident of Belle Mead, adding that he had come from a holiday party and was seeking to use New Jersey Transit to return home.

Officials said that the incident is being investigated as accidental, with no criminality suspected.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created for Harvey's family following his death.

"Keith Harvey’s life was tragically cut short due to a horrible accident. Everyone who knows Keith knows that nothing was more important to him than his family.
