Hillsborough Man Arrested On Child Porn Charges

A search of Bernardino Gonzalez Lorenzana's home found numerous files depicting the sexual exploitation and/or abuse of children: Police.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A Hillsborough man is facing charges after police say they found child pornography at his township home.

Bernardino Gonzalez Lorenzana, 36, of Robin Road, Hillsborough, was arrested at his home and charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography and third-degree possession of child pornography, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor and Hillsborough Township Chief of Police Michael McMahon.

The arrest was prompted after the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force notified the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office about an apparent upload of images of child pornography, said McDonald.

An investigation by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit found that Gonzalez Lorenzana was believed to have images of child sexual abuse material and was sharing it with another person, said McDonald.

On Nov. 7, detectives assigned to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit, agents from of U.S Homeland Security Investigation – Newark Field Office and members of the Hillsborough Township Police Department searched Gonzalez Lorenzana’s home.

A preliminary search found "numerous files depicting the sexual exploitation and/or abuse of children," said McDonald.

Gonzalez Lorenzana was arrested at his home and charged. He was taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing in this matter.
