D&R Canal Dredging Project To Close Canal Road

FRANKLIN, NJ — Sections of Canal Road will be closed next week for work related to the D&R Canal dredging project, Franklin Township Police said.

Canal Road will close on Tuesday and Wednesday between Jacques Lane and Suydam Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Canal Road will then close again on Nov. 7 and 8 between Coppermine Road and Old Georgetown Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

An altered traffic pattern will be set up and drivers are being asked to use caution when driving through the area.

Drivers are encouraged to find other routes and avoid the area completely since some delays may occur.

Residents in the area should also expect to see some increased traffic on surrounding roadways during this period.
