The Hillsborough Dukes hosted Watchung Hills on Sunday, September 22nd. The Dukes’ competed in games across 4 levels starting at 9:00 in the morning competing in the 4th games of their season.
Flag teams
The Red Flag team played against Watchung Hills and had another strong performance. The offense scored 7 times with 5 touchdowns runs and 2 touchdown passes. Jason Roser, Cole Hayden, Francesca Schiro, Jack Moran & JB McCrea all had touchdown runs. Moran also threw two touchdown passes, one each to Trey McKeever and Hayden. CJ Olney also keyed the offense with a few long runs and a pass to Hayden. The defense help Watchung Hills to one score and was led by Moran, Julian Brunelle, Logan McDermid, McCrea, Hayden & Roser.

The Yellow Flag team competed in a close game with Watchung Hills. The put together 5 touchdowns led by Shailen Patel with 2 scores. Adam Stewart, Parker Taylor and Adam Fidziukiewicz also reached the end zone. Anthony Sowinski contributed with a long run. Watchung Hills also scored 5 times in the tight contest. The defense battled the whole game to keep the game tight.

Mitey Mites
The Dukes Mitey Mite team hosted Watchung Hills “1” Mitey Mite team. The defense had a strong game hold their opponent to 1 touchdowns. The defense forced multiple turnovers with Stephen Dowe recovering a fumble, Christian Quandt intercepting a pass and Michael Caporaso recovering a fumble. The defensive line again led the charge with strong performances by Luke Scott, Mike Guiliano, MJ Baker, Nathan Kepniss, Luke Moleski, Dain Smith, Billy Meszaros, Phiilip Unangst, Peter Quandt and Justin LeBron. The offense reached the end zone 3 times. Jeremy Martino had a long touchdown run on the 1st play of the game and the Dukes converted 2 of their turnovers into scores. Dowe and Jack O’Donnell had long touchdown runs. Lebron added a conversion. Coach Martino had the following to say about the team, "I'm so proud of how this team has played. They have a lot of discipline and focus, but they also have a good time on the field."
Junior PeeWee
The Junior Pee Wee team hosted Watchung in their 4th game of the year and lost by a score of 21 to 6 to fall to 2 and 2. The Dukes scores on a 60 yard punt return by Kyle Hudak. The defense battled through the 2nd half and held Watchung scoreless in the last 2 quarters.
PeeWee
The Pee Wee team hosted Watchung in their 4th game of the year. The Pee Wee also fell to 2 and 2 on the year with a 28 to 0 loss to Watchung.
All of the football teams would like to thank the Dukes cheer squads for their support. The girls cheered on the teams and used this week to continue to work on their competition performance at Half Time for their Competition season which comes later in the year.
