Results Of Hillsborough Primary 2026, Committee Race Contested In Fall

Two Republicans and two Democrats filed to run in the uncontested 2026 Primary Election for the Hillsborough Township Committee.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The polls have officially closed for the 2026 Primary Election for the Hillsborough Township Committee.

According to Somerset County, 100 percent of the districts in Hillsborough Township have reported. However, these results remain unofficial until all mail-in and provisional ballots are counted.

While the Committee races for Republicans and Democrats were both uncontested in the primary election, they will be contested in the general election in November.

Here are the unofficial results for the Hillsborough Township Committee (*denotes incumbent), according to Somerset County:

Hillsborough Township Committee:

  • Samantha Hand* - Democrat - 2,954
  • Meghann Valeo - Democrat - 2,717
  • Rob Movshin - Republican - 1,145
  • Catherine Payne* - Republican - 1,242

Hand and Valeo will now fave Movshin and Payne in the November general election.

Somerset County Board of County Commissioners:

  • Paul Drake - Democrat* - 21,384
  • Elizabeth Graner - Democrat* - 24,048
  • Dan Gallic - Republican - 9,265
  • Rakesh "Rocky" Ganta - Republican - 7,431

The New Jersey general election is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
