Endangered Woman Missing For 1 Week In Somerset County

FRANKLIN, NJ — Authorities are searching for a missing endangered Franklin Township resident who was last seen just over a week ago in Somerville.

Shekinah D. Dover, 29, was reported missing by her mother on May 30 at around 4:59 p.m. to Franklin Township Police Department, said acting Somerset County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.

Investigating Franklin Township detectives saw Dover on surveillance video in the area of Bridge Street and Grove Street in Somerville at around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 29. She was last seen walking on Grove Street towards Main Street in Somerville, said Taggart.

On Tuesday, June 7, members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit were told of the ongoing missing person investigation and are helping Franklin Township Police.

Dover is described as being 5-foot-8-inches tall, and about 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing a sage green Nike hoodie sweatshirt, black leggings, burgundy flat shoes and a silver ring on her right finger.

"The entire situation is unfortunate. We want Ms. Titre and our community to know that we exhaustively investigate every missing person’s case within Franklin Township. The age, sex and/or race of the missing person does not dictate the amount of resources we expend. All investigations are conducted in the most ethical and comprehensive manner by our investigative unit and in conjunction with other local, state and federal agencies. We have been and are still actively seeking Ms. Dover’s whereabouts. Due to the nature of the investigation, we will
not comment on any of the details of the incident preceding this missing person report," said Franklin Township Police Director Quovella Maeweather.
