Route 206 Reopens In Hillsborough After Flooding Thursday
Drivers should never drive into flooded roadways.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A portion of Route 206 has reopened after being closed Thursday due to flooding.
The highway reopened as of 5:25 p.m.
"The water has receded and Route 206 at Old Camplain is now open however please proceed with caution," the township said.

It had been closed at the railroad underpass at Old Camplain Road, according to the township in an alert at 4:11 p.m.
Drivers were advised to use an alternate. Drivers should never drive into flooded roadways.

A flash flood watch has been issued for Somerset County through Friday at 5 a.m. by the National Weather Service.
From Thursday afternoon through late Thursday night, Somerset County residents should expect showers and thunderstorms to develop ahead of and with the passage of a cold front on Thursday night.
Rain is expected to be heavy at times with widespread rainfall totals ranging from 1 to 2.5 inches with locally higher amounts possible.
Much of the rainfall could occur in a short period of time, leading to at least the threat of localized flooding, according to the National Weather Service. Damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are possible, with the main threat occurring from Thursday afternoon into the early overnight hours, officials said. The most likely sources of flooding are creeks, streams, urban areas and poor drainage areas, according to the National Weather Agency. Localized flash flooding is also possible. The flooding would most likely occur Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.
Here's the forecast for Somerset County as of 4 p.m. Thursday:
Thursday Afternoon: Showers. High near 81. Southeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Thursday Night: Showers, mainly before 5 a.m. Low around 57. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.
Friday: A chance of showers, mainly before 8 a.m. Sunny, with a high near 72. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 50. Calm wind.
