HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Former Committeewoman Olivia Holmes penned a letter endorsing Democrats Ronald Yoder and Erynn Murray:

As the only elected Democrat on the Township Committee for the last 18 years, I knew it was important to address our town’s issues such as planning, development, environmental concerns and empty storefronts from a fresh perspective.

Also, the elimination of important subcommittees such as the arts, the tree mitigation and the architectural standards committee stripped many citizens of their voice in the decisions that affect our town.

Being one of five votes on the township committee, I found myself in the minority on many of these issues. I felt it important to express and vote the concerns of my neighbors and friends.

Electing Ron Yoder and Erynn Murray, two strong individuals will continue this work. Ron as a Hillsborough business operator and volunteer firefighter, and Erynn as an educator as well as a parent of a Hillsborough Eagle Scout Troop 1776 know what it takes to serve the public. They will be a great addition to the Township Committee, and I highly endorse them and hope you will support them as well.
