Bomb Threat Causes Evacuation At Franklin High School
Authorities and K9 searched the school Wednesday afternoon. This is the second incident at the high school in the past week.
FRANKLIN, NJ — A bomb threat called in over the phone caused an evacuation at Franklin Township High School Wednesday afternoon, Franklin Police Lt. Philip J. Rizzo confirmed.
The call was reported by school administrators on Jan. 23 at around 12:45 p.m., police reported.
K9 Officers from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, New Brunswick Police, New Jersey State Police, Morris County Sheriff’s Office and Hudson County Sheriff’s Office responded and searched the school.

The search found that it was safe for students and faculty to reenter. Students were released for the day while they were still evacuated, police reported.
There is an ongoing investigation by police into the origin of the call.
This is the second incident at the high school in the past week. The high school was put under a shelter in place on Friday, Jan. 18 after a threatening note was found by a teacher, police reported. (See Related: Note Found At Franklin High School Causes Shelter In Place Friday)
