Note Found At Franklin High School Causes Shelter In Place Friday

A Franklin High School teacher found the note with a "veiled, non-specific threat" on it on Friday afternoon.

FRANKLIN, NJ — The Franklin Township High School was put under a shelter in place on Friday afternoon after a threatening note was found by a teacher, police reported.

On Jan. 18 just before 1 p.m., a teacher reported finding a note that contained a "veiled, non-specific threat," Franklin Police Lt. Philip J. Rizzo.

The school was put into a "shelter in place" status while Franklin Police Detectives and administrators investigated.

The note was found to be a hoax and the threat was not credible, Rizzo said.

"At no time were any students or administrators in any danger," Rizzo said.

The "shelter in place" status was lifted around 2:30 p.m. and students were dismissed as
normal.
