Hamilton Road To Close For 1 Year In Hillsborough

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hamilton Road in Hillsborough will be closed for about one year beginning Wednesday, March 6, as part of the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Route 206 Bypass project.

Hamilton Road will be closed between Route 206 and N Willow Road and businesses will remain open during this time.

The Hamilton Road Bridge will cross over the Route 206 Bypass roadway in the vicinity of Old Somerville Road as the Route 206 Hillsborough Bypass project advances. Old Somerville Road, between Hamilton Road and existing Route 206, will remain open for the duration of this closure.

The bridge will be about 150 feet long, elevated 10 to 15 feet, and carry one lane of traffic in each direction. A six-foot wide pedestrian walkway also will be built on both sides of the bridge, according to the NJDOT.
